Yellow Butterfly
Greeting cards with a story. Each card is 4x6 and comes with its own envelope. All cards are wrapped in a compostable plastic sleeve. 8 Your purchase means a local charity gets a donation. All cards are painted by hand, then scanned and printed in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada.
THE STORY
This card was inspired by a story told by one of my mom's former colleague. She talked about when she lost a loved one, she started to see yellow butterflies everywhere. She started to associate them with the person she lost. We do the same in our family with dragonflies. Whenever we see one, or if we are lucky enough to have one land on us, we say hi to "grandmama". Because it reminded me of her story, I painted this yellow butterfly on a purple thistle. It remains one of the favourite cards for butterfly lovers and for people wanting to send their condolences.
